Yeah, my typography teacher likes to give us book assignments :)
This is my first book design that was made into a mockup. I'm very happy about it and I also learned a lot by facing problems regarding the use of InDesign's "Print booklet" menu, the difficulties of buying proper paper in my town and full-scaled bookbinding :) I did three chapters.

GAWD! The terrors of the 'print booklet' button. I recently created a standards manual and I had an issue with that feature. It wasn't so much a problem with the application moreover a problem with my choice of printers. This looks excellent. I like how the title, author and subhead create a square on the cover. Very nice.

You can still do it though. I think if you ask for advice from your teachers, they'll surely help :) And there are plenty of books too, for example Albert Kapr's '101 items on book design' (although I don't know if it's available in English).
